GloHub Doctoral Student Mobility autumn 2025

 

 

 

Doctoral students employed at Lund University and GloHub partner universities UC Berkeley, National University of Singapore and University of Melbourne are eligible to apply for GloHub mobility funding, which supports travel between Lund University and one of the other GloHub partner universities and accommodation during the stay.

Doctoral students employed at Lund University or at one of the partner universities; UC Berkeley, National University of Singapore, University of Melbourne

 

Funding conditions:

The funding is expected to contribute to additional costs during the mobility regarding  travel and accommodation. The recipients are expected to maintain their salary or other financial support from the home university during the mobility period.

Salary and visa costs are thus not included in the grant.

The total amount of the grant depends on the length of the research stay.

 

For applicants from UCB, NUS and UoM going to LU

The host department will receive the funding and pay for the flight ticket (up to a maximum of SEK 25,000) and accommodation (up to a maximum of SEK 12,000 per month).

 

For LU applicants 

The scholarship contributes to travel costs and additional costs associated with the stay abroad. The scholarship amount is calculated per month, including additional days.

The grant consists of two parts:

  • Travel costs: EUR 1,735 and
  • Subsistence
    • For long mobilities of 2-3 months (max 90 days): EUR 700 per month. The monthly scholarship is calculated for whole months plus any additional days.
    • For short mobilities of 30 days: EUR 79 per day for the first 14 days and EUR 56 per day for the rest of the month.

The stay at the National University of Singapore and the University of Melbourne is funded with Erasmus+ funds. After you receive confirmation that you have been granted a place, you will receive instructions on how to apply for the Erasmus scholarship. The scholarship is paid to you personally, and you need to cover all costs associated with your mobility.

The stay at UC Berkeley is funded with LU-internal funds at the same reimbursement levels as Erasmus+. The funds are paid to the home department at Lund University after the mobility is completed.

 

Application guidelines

The applicant doctoral student submits the application through this application portal.

The application should include

  • a short description of the aim of the visit
  • a motivation statement
  • an invitation letter from the host research group/department
  • a support/recommendation letter from the home research group/department 

 

Key assessment criteria

The call is competitive and a selection will take place. The following evaluation criteria will be used in the selection process:

    • Motivation and commitment to participate in the initiative
    • Contribution of mobility to development of skills and research interests, and/or stimulation of new research ideas
    • Capacity for future collaboration
    • Balanced participation between the GloHub universities
